CARTOON NETWORK SPLASHES DOWN IN PHILADELPHIA FOR THREE NIGHTS WITH SECOND ANNUAL DIVE-IN THEATER TOUR; Cartoon Network to Premiere New Cartoons to Swimming Pools Full of Kids.

Cartoon Network will host three consecutive DIVE-IN THEATERS on three nights in the greater Philadelphia area, beginning Monday, Aug. 12, at Barry Recreational Center and continuing on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Max Myers Recreational Center and Wednesday, Aug. 14, at The Aquatic Swim Club in Morton, Pa. All three events run from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Each DIVE-IN THEATER features hundreds of families watching brand new cartoons on a giant 9 x 12 foot screen while relaxing in floating inner tubes and poolside lounge chairs. DIVE-IN THEATER is sponsored by Star 104.5 FM and, respectively, Greater Media Cable, Comcast Cable and Suburban Cable.

Guests will be treated to five never-before-seen cartoons from Cartoon Network Studio's World Premiere Toons series, an initiative that is turning out the cartoon superstars of tomorrow as witnessed by its numerous honors and awards, such as two recently announced 1996 Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Animated Program. In addition, DIVE-IN THEATER will feature a sneak preview trailer of "The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest," the all-new animated series from Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Inc. that will debut Aug. 26 on Cartoon Network, TBS and TNT.

DIVE-IN THEATER will transform its Philadelphia pools into a kaleidoscope of color each evening. Poolside festivities will include roaming costumed cartoon characters posing for pictures, free food and a "Cartoon Network Wacky Wheel" that rewards winners with Cartoon Network merchandise and other prizes.
