A slightly older Jonny Quest returns to television today with an unusual triple debut of "The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest" on Turner Network Television, TBS Superstation and Cartoon Network.

The unprecedented simultaneous launch will result in 21 telecasts of the series each week. TNT will show the animated half-hour at 8 a.m. (ET) weekdays and 6:30 p.m. Saturdays. TBS has the show scheduled for 4:35 p.m. weekdays and Cartoon Network will show it twice on weekdays at 8 p.m. and 12 a.m.

The series is the first companywide initiative teaming different cable networks and divisions of Turner Broadcasting System to revitalize classic characters.

"We've been careful to look at time slots and found in our research that the audiences of kids watching TNT in the morning or TBS in the afternoon and those watching Cartoon in prime time and late night are close to mutually exclusive," said Fred Seibert, president of Hanna-Barbera Cartoons. Promotional partners include Pizza Hut, General Mills and Pillsbury. "Jonny Quest" is also sold in 90 countries, in addition to being on Cartoon Network in some nations.
