TURNER RELAUNCHES 'QUEST'
Galoob Toys has signed as master toy licensee for the relaunch of Hanna-Barbera's Jonny Quest property, the latest effort linking parent Turner Home Entertainment's divisions.
The Quest relaunch centers around a new, high-tech $40 million TV series with 65 episodes that begins fail 1996, with 21 airings a week on TBS, TNT and Cartoon Network. There will also be a live-action theatrical film planned for '96-'97 release through Turner pictures. Galoob will hit retail shortly after the shows debut and include action figures and plush.
"The property still has great recognition and we think this will work because of the production values, because it's a real person solving real problems and because it's the property that started the genre," said H-B president Fred Seibert.
Turner Home Video will get in the act with a "collector's series" package of orginal episodes; Turner Interactive is planning a line of CD-ROM and video games and Turner's Bedrock Press imprint line.
